Part 2-Navigating Breast Health with Thermography
Thank you for your interest in our thermography series. Below is the much-anticipated Part 2 of our exploration into the fascinating realm of thermography and its significant role in maintaining breast health. In this segment, we're ready to unravel the profound connection between thermography and breast health, delving into its nuances, limitations, and transformative possibilities.
Thermography vs. Mammography: A Thoughtful Perspective
Let's begin by addressing a topic that's been buzzing in the health world – the ongoing discourse between thermography and mammography. As women seek alternatives to conventional mammograms, the allure of thermography as a radiation-free and holistic approach gains traction. But, the million-dollar question remains: Can thermography stand alone as a comprehensive solution?
Elena Bach, our whole body thermography specialist at K6 Wellness Center, lends her expertise to the debate. "Thermography is not a standalone test, but great for early detection. We can see what's going on, but it's not a complete substitute. Sometimes we see things and recommend additional imaging, but we're always a fan of ultrasound if you need that additional imaging, because sometimes you need to double-check. The mammogram will not pick-up cancer until it's already been there."
As I mentioned in Part 1 of our series, in German medicine where thermography originated, they estimate that a thermography is going to show a departure from normal regulation 2-5 years before a tumor is picked-up, or a clinical diagnosis is made. So, it’s a game changer to look directly into the breast tissue where cancer may appear, with no negative effects from radiation.
I also don’t think that traumatizing breast tissue in the way that we do, serves a purpose. With thermography, no harm is done. There is no pain, no trauma. For women with implants, this is a welcome option, as it’s rarely acknowledged that mammograms can cause ruptures. It’s a horrible situation that we’ve seen multiple times. I have always said that if we did mammograms on testicles, we’d have much better testing available for women.
Empowering Early Detection: Thermography's Role
Thermography takes the stage as a powerful tool in the realm of early detection. While it doesn't offer a definitive diagnosis, it unveils temperature fluctuations that might signal potential health issues. Imagine it as a backstage pass to your body's inner workings, offering subtle cues that could potentially alter the course of your health journey.
Reflecting on past experiences, we've had a few instances over the years where women have come in after cancer had already taken a toll, simply because they were in denial. It's crucial to remember that thermography is a diagnostic tool, not a treatment method. It doesn't offer a therapeutic solution, but rather, valuable information for informed decision-making.
Navigating the Information Maze
In the era of information overload, it's vital to differentiate between knowledge and action. As I often stress, it’s about recognizing our role in this process. There's a place for conventional medicine, including imaging, but also for alternative approaches to gathering health information. It's about striking a balance and making informed choices.
Elena adds her insight, saying, "More women are beginning to question mammograms and are becoming uncomfortable with them. But simply doing nothing isn't the solution. Thermography can become a vital first step in educating and raising self-awareness. After all, nobody knows your body better than you do."
Breast Implants and Thermography: A Unique Perspective
Let’s delve for a moment into the world of breast implants and their impact on health.
A group of women who often come to us with a laundry list of symptoms, ranging from fatigue to thyroid issues, are those with breast implants. In some cases, these implants may unknowingly be contributing to their health concerns. Once or twice we’ve done a thermography on a woman who has implants and thankfully everything looks good, but most of the time this isn’t the case. For women who have had their implants for 20 to 30 years, unfortunately those thermographies never look good.
The journey with women and implants is often sensitive and nuanced. At times, there's resistance to the idea that a personal choice like elective surgery could have unintended health consequences. But your body is not made to host foreign objects and a thermography will clearly show this dysfunction. If the human body can turn on itself and make antibodies to its own thyroid or to its own adrenal tissue, then why wouldn’t it develop antibodies to fight a foreign object?
It is really fulfilling to help women who see the bigger picture and make considerable changes, after having a thermography. It often radically changes their lives for the better. Sometimes it’s the one thing that has been preventing them from healing and optimal health.
Our aim is to provide information, facilitate awareness, and empower individuals to make decisions that align with their well-being.
The Mouth-Body Connection: Breast Cancer & Dental Health
There is a fascinating connection between dental health and overall wellness. Thermography remarkably detects health issues in the mouth. There's a surprising amount of dental-related information that surfaces during thermography scans. In fact, we've jokingly considered having a dentist on our team!
In German medicine, they have made the connection between breast cancer and root canals. They will tell you that a staggering 95% of women with breast cancer are found to have a root canal on a tooth connected to the affected breast.
That may sound unfamiliar to some of you, but the fact of the matter is there is an energy circuit, called a meridian, between every organ in your body and your teeth. And when you have a root canal, which is the practice of leaving a dead body part attached to your body, something is not going to work right with the organ or tissue on the other end of that circuit.
This underscores the profound connection between oral health and our overall well-being, which we’ll discuss more in Part 3 of our blog series
Parting Thoughts: A Journey of Awareness
As we conclude this enlightening chapter, one truth remains evident: thermography transcends conventional paradigms, offering us a gateway to deeper self-understanding. It empowers us to become active participants in our health, guiding us towards early detection, informed decisions, and holistic wellness.
For breast health, thermography isn't just a test; it's an invitation to awareness and well-being. Whether you're seeking prevention, identifying early symptoms, uncovering the mouth-body connection or on a healing path, thermography empowers you to embark on a journey of self-awareness and growth.
