First Aid Naturally {Relieving Headaches and Pains}

If your medicine chest has traditionally consisted of aspirin, ibuprofen, anti-itch cream, etc., let me introduce you to some natural alternatives.

Today our focus will be on relieving headaches and pains.

Products such as ibuprofen, aspirin, sleeping pills, laxatives, and antacids comprise the bulk of many medicine chests in the US.

Some natural alternatives include:

  • Protease (Bromelain, Papain, Serra Peptase) enzymes for pain relief and headaches. Also great for jet lag!
  • Peppermint Oil – combined with a drop of lavender essential oil  can provide fast headache relief when rubbed into the temples.
  • Magnesium Citrate – This is a great muscle relaxer when you are sore from strenuous work and also works well to relieve constipation. Because Magnesium is a mineral, you cannot overdose! You will know your limit by your bowel activity.
  • Epsom Salt baths are also great for helping to pull out inflammation and toxins through the skin. Whether it is poison ivy, chicken pox, sore muscles, menstrual cramps or tension, taking a bath in Epsom salts can quickly alleviate discomforts of many types.
